Message: I just posted a message but I went back and found the tour date for Tucson, Arizona. Led Zeppelin was playing the next night and most of my friends were going to Zeppelin. I wanted to see Tull so bad after reading the album cover of Thick as a Brick a hundred times. I had no money. About 2:00 that afternoon at work and guy called and said he knew the printer where we had our company stationery printed and that the printer gave him my number stating I might like to go out with this stranger some time. I told him 8:00 tonight - Jethro Tull! He was a cowbow-type from Stafford, AZ, he said. I do not remember his name. Alex, the printer, swears he never gave anyone my phone number, said he would never do that without checking with me first. I think God sent me an angel to take me to the concert. I'm surely appreciate that angel. The concert was great and truly changed my life. Have seen the band once more in 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Was great to see Ian again. Like me, he was older. So glad his music has been around all these years. His music is almost religious to me in nature. Keep on writing and playing Ian. Hope to see him again in the future.

Message: I came across your website today on Jethro Tull and
love it!! I have been a Tull fan since 1969 when Stand-Up came out. I was
17 at the time. When I first saw J. Tull in concert it was Nov 1971 in
Albany, New York USA. And in your site I found that it was Nov 14, 1971
on a Sunday. Boy, seems like yesterday and I remember it well, almost well.
I know we were sitting up in the balcony of the Palace theater in Albany.
The stage was dark with green lighting, Ian running all over the stage,
I am sure they were performing Aqualung since that was the newest album
out at that time. Hey, 35 yrs ago. I did not see J. Tull live again until
1991, then again in 2004 here where I live in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I listen
to their music today, my favorite albums are from '68 - '75. Benefit is
great, my fav song is "We use to know" from Stand-Up. Guitar work on that
song is awesome, still today. Thanks for the site, and allowing me to remember
days gone by. Still trying to hang onto them though. Bye, Joe

Message: A very nice website. I love the music of Jethro tull
up to and including 1979. After that I'm afraid it's all rather sad. I
can remember seeing the A album in WH Smiths in about 1981. I'd just got
into Jethro Tull after buying Living In The Past. The awful cover of the
A album told me that something must have gone dreadfully wrong with the
band. I thought the album (just on looks alone) obviously represented the
lowest point in their career. Then in 1984 came Under Wraps and the shock
caused me to cry myself to sleep every night for about four days. I also
ended up with a strange rash probably caused by shock. Where and why did
it all go wrong? But still at least we still have the faultless pre 1980's
back catalogue to fall back on. For me Heavy Horses represents the absolute
peek of Ian Anderson's songwriting and lyrical powers. The way that he
likens a double locked black briefcase to a dog in Journeyman is the ultimate
proof that Ian Anderson is a genius and as such enables me to forgive him
for many of his painfully bad later lyrics. An example of a dreadful later
lyric is this.."He's Vindaloo hot on the bongo trot". Come off it Ian!
You can do better than that!
